O significado e a motivação do trabalho para estagiários

Abstract

O trabalho ocupa hoje um papel central na vida das pessoas. É através dele que construímos a nossa identidade e obtemos status social. O estágio é visto como etapa importante na preparação para a vida laboral dos estudantes. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar empiricamente se existe diferença no significado e na motivação para o trabalho entre estagiários de nível médio e nível superior que atuam em um órgão público do Governo Federal Brasileiro. Para isso, foi aplicado o Inventário da Motivação e Significado do Trabalho (IMST) em todos os estagiários de todas as unidades descentralizadas do órgão. Foi verificado que não existe diferença significativa na motivação e nem no significado do trabalho. Ambos os níveis apresentam um alto grau de motivação para o trabalho e um significado semelhante no que se refere a como o estágio deve ser e como ele efetivamente é.The work now occupies a central role in people's lives. It is through him that we build our identity and obtain social status. The internship is seen as an important step in preparation for the working life of students. The objective of this study was to empirically identify whether there are differences in meaning and motivation to work among high school trainees and college trainees who work in a government agency of the Brazilian Federal Government. For this, the Inventory of Motivation and Meaning of Work (IMMW) was applied in all trainees of all the decentralized units of the agency. It was found that there is no significant difference in motivation nor in the meaning of work. Both types of interns have a high degree of motivation to work and a similar meaning in regard to how the stage should be and how it actually is.
